'Please Don’t Yell at We' is a fun story that brings to life the innocence in everything little children do and the reality of being a parent who sometimes forgets that children get dirty, make messes, break things and get boo boos. Enjoy this book with your child andreminisce with them, but also take the time to think about how your responses to their actions may impact them over time.
Sabrina Carter is a wife and mother who currently resides in Englewood, NJ with her husband and two children. Born in Maryland, Sabrina was raised the youngest of two girls to a single mother. In an effort to provide for her children, Sabrina’s mother joined the army, leaving the then 6 year old Sabrina and her sister living with their grandmother. It was during these early years that she discovered writing as a way to escape her circumstances and express the longings for her mother and the desires for the father that she would never know. Throughout her middle and high school years she continued to write poems and short stories about her life, but unfortunately many were destroyed or lost as a result of frequently moving. In 1991 she graduated Valedictorian from DuVal High School and received the esteemed Paul Robeson Award from the Gannett Foundation, a full four year scholarship to attend Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. While attending Rutgers, she majored in Mechanical Engineering and graduated with her Bachelors degree in 1995. Over the next fourteen years she would put her love of writing aside as she pursued her career in technology sales and consulting, working for two of the largest computer and software development companies in the world.
At the age of twenty three Sabrina met Elliot Carter while volunteering as a youth counselor at her church. Elliot, a gifted singer with a wonderful sense of humor, is a native of New Jersey and was born and raised in the city of Passaic. He is a graduate of Kean University and at the time he and Sabrina met was working as a manager in the airline industry. An avid lover of education, Elliot decided to change careers and became a language arts teacher in his home town of Passaic and in 2005 received his Masters degree in Administration and Supervision from St. Peters College. In his spare time Elliot continues to sing and is a charter member of the Voices of Jubilation, a gospel choir who has performed and recorded with music greats, Shirley Ceaser, Donnie McClurkin, Ray Charles, Queen Latifah and others
